What is a QR Code and how will it help to increase sales and generate new customers to your business. QR Codes or Quick Response Codes were invent in Japan by Denso Wave a subsidiary of Toyota. They hold the registered trademark but decided against using their patent rights. QR Codes are similar to Bar Codes but are two dimensional and can hold a thousands of more characters of information. They have widely used in Japan for over 10 years. They are just gaining some popularity in the United States and should gain widespread use in the next few years.  The ability of holding more information is what makes it very practical to be used by small business and entrepreneurs.

This is true for most entrepreneurs who have decided to embrace this new technology along with the Internet and the rise in popularity of social media.

These codes are being linked to websites, or Face book fan pages and even videos or landing pages to capture a lead. They can include coupons or discounts on products and services. Store Fronts and Restaurants are placing QR Codes in the Front Windows with daily specials and discounts.  The business person or entrepreneur that embraces this new technology will be on the cutting edge of innovations that will help their business survive this tough economy.

The applications for QR Codes are many including sharing information, brochures, videos that tell the story about your enterprise. This sharing of information through the community by way of cell phone, text  and word of mouth will help you establish your Face Book fan page and keep your loyal following growing and happy. This will also allow you to stay in touch with your customers and clients on a daily or weekly basis with updates and promotions.

The other great aspect of The QR Code is you can give your potential new customer or client an immediate call to action with your discounts, specials,  and coupons.

How can you create a QR code for your business? You can easily create a QR Code through Google’s  QR Code creator or try a site like Kaywa.com to create your QR Code. I Personally use a software called IMtools Suite to create my own QR Codes. They can be use again on brochures, business cards, websites, I have even seen them on tee shirts.

The QR Code will be common place in a the next year get on board now and see the advantages that these simple codes give your business or enterprise by being on the cutty edge.

Are you in a rut, are you doing the same things day in day out. Do you feel productive and alive in your daily life or are you going through the motions. Many of us are stuck in a rut and do not even know that we are in the rut. The daily routine becomes so common that we forget the person we once were as the years pass. I was one of these people I would get up early each day and make my pot of coffee. I would turn on the news and watch the news as I drank my cup of coffee, then I would get to work. Since I work out of the house and I am self employed all I had to do was head over to the computer and get started working. I would start typing or doing some research drink another cup of coffee get all my data together and then head to my first appointment. I would go out inspect several houses come back home eat some lunch and sit back down at the computer. Mid afternoon I would drink another cup of coffee and complete my reports, check my email for new work, make my phone calls and call it a day.  Earlier in my life I was running to soccer or lacrosse practices for my son and daughter and then the week ends they had  games. I enjoyed the opportunity to go out and watch my children play sports  because I enjoyed paying football, basketball and baseball. I even ran cross country my senior year in high school. The years went by and I was doing the same thing each and every day. I enjoyed appraising real estate and I would get out and golf every now and then but something was missing.  I would work hard each week and look forward to meeting friends on the weekends at the games or a happy hour . The past two years I have been doing allot of reading and they say once you put an action into motion things start to change in your life.  The first change you make gives you a different outlook and then you make the next change.  The mind keeps working and the more books you read the more changes start coming about in you life. Then you find yourself doing some soul searching and realized that I was in a rut and and ready for some new challenges. Once you make a decision to change your mind starts working on how, why and when. I sat down started setting new goals and been working on my true why. The fun part is once you decide to get out of the rut and find your passion or your why for change the universe starts opening up doors and new opportunities. People start to show up in your life that are willing to help your along on your journey on becoming that person you always wanted to be deep down inside.  The whys and the hows come into focus and life is much easier when you take that first step towards change.

The stock market hit the skids today and drop over 500 points and you have to really look hard to find some good news on TV or in the news papers. The great news is when you take control of your own economy and start living life on your own terms these problems do not have a lasting affect. Yes you may have lost money today but you no that most of the problems in the economy are outside your control. The only real thing you can control is your thoughts and actions. Living life on your own terms means taking daily actions to make your life better. Take it from someone who thought that being self employed and running a small business was the most important thing life. The problem I had was that my small business was really running my life. I could set my schedule most of the time but I was always under the pressure to bring in new business week after week. The past two years have thought me many life lessons. One is to always have a Plan B as a back up in case things change in the economy or your business starts to decline.  My business is Residential Real Estate Appraising and the real estate market in most areas of the country has slowed and so has lending practices for most lenders so the volume of appraisals is way down.

I started about two and half years ago become intrigued by the Internet and the possibilities of marketing a product or service over the Internet.  This has lead to gaining a lot of education on Internet marketing and a variety of other on and off line marketing strategies. I have started to reinvent myself over the past two years through reading many books and purchasing many programs online. The one thing that I kept coming back to was how was I going to leverage the Internet and generate additional income. I have found many ways that work some are very time consuming and not worth the time. The one thing that I kept coming back was finding a product or service that I could believe that I could leverage through growing an organization. Through my research, weekend trainings and product purchases I have had the privilege to meet many great people that were willing to help me along the way. Many were very successful in the network marketing game or mlm. I tried my hand at several companies but for a variety of reasons success eluded me the past two years.

One of the friends I have been fortunate enough  to meet has been very successful in growing networking organizations. I will be heading out to the Steely Dan Concert in Columbia, Maryland tonight with my best friend and best man. It will be great to talk about old times and listen to some of the music that we loved when we were in our late teens and early twenties. The great part about music is we have been listen to Steely Dan and their songs ever since then and I probable enjoy it now more then my youger years. I guess its the sentamental value and the memories. This will be my second time to see Steeley Dan in concert and it sould be a great show although I know they’ re getting older might not be able to hit the same notes. My buddy and I enjoy Steely Dan so much that we have been down to Nashville three time to see a band  called Twelve Against Nature which is a take off from one of Steely Dan’s alblums. The band is mad up of some of the best musicians in the Nashville area and they play at a cool bar/nightclub called 5th and Linsey and the cost to see this band is about $15. So if your ever in Nashville and you like the Dan check out if they are playing, it will be well worth your time and effort.  There is nothing like good music to stur your heart and soul and fill you with passion. Look foward to having a blast tonight.

The unlived life and the life we live and what stands between us fulfilling our dreams is resistance.  Resistance seems to come from the outside but it is actually internal and is self generated.  Resistance is universal and everyone suffers from resistance.  The more important a call or dream is the more resistance. Resistance is fueled by fear it has  master that fear and we conquer resistance,   Resistance will kick in if and of the following purstuits

• Any Pursuit of Art, Painting, Music and Writing
• Entrepreneurial pursuit of New Venture or Enterprise for Profit
• Diet or Better Health and Fitness
• Spiritual Advancement
• Education
• Instilling New Habits
• Helping Others
• Any community of the Heart
• A Principled Stand

Procrastination if a form of resistance which stops us form doing or completing our work. Procrastination is one of the worst forms of resistance because it leads use to believe that will follow what ever worthy ideal we what to pursue to better our live but we will just do it tomorrow. So if you find yourself pursuing new activities that will lead you to a higher level in life there will be resistance. The more resistance you have with a pursuit the more you will find this is a pursuit that you are called to do.  We need to have our own revolution against resistance.

I just got done listening to a two CD set which is from the book The War of Art written by Steven Pressfield now I have not read the book but the CD was very impressive and give you a many forms of resistance, what resistance is and how to overcome resistance. The one thing about resistance is that it only pushes one way and once we push back resistance is like a bully it will back down and flea.

I would recommend getting the book or the CD if you are starting a new enterprise, seeking a higher calling, going on a diet or healthier or fit, or starting a writing project, creating art or learning music.

I made a decision to turn my TV off for the Month of August. I started this past Friday when I just got sick in tried of hearing all the B S that was going on over in Washington D. C.  After a made the decision to draw a line in the sand and to focus like a laser beam on the 90 Day Challenge and my new enterprise.  I will be working my plan hard for the next three months. When I turned the TV off this past Friday I was listen to some music and I was thinking about some off the music I used to listen to in my late teens and early twenties. I was thinking about different artists and bands and one artist came to mind that was originally from my home town of Baltimore. My buddies and myself would drive around town and drink some beers and listen to these artists and bands on A Track, Wow how times have changed. I just thought about a Frank Zappa song that we would listen too that the lyrics to the first part were something like what I have below.

I have been listen to Jim Rohn today and he stated time is more valuble then capital. I don’t watch a whole lot of TV but I thought the 30 days of focus would be worth the investment. I look foward to seeing the results thhis investment will bring about in my life.

I am drawing a line in the sand. The past three years I have been on a journey of trying to reinvent myself. I have been a certified residential appraiser for the past 22 years an I really enjoyed going out and inspecting and valuing homes and setting my own schedule. In the past 22 years I have made many relationships with banks and lenders and brokers. The problem was in 2008 a new law was passed and that does not allow and appraiser or a lender communicate with one another and all appraisal orders are now given to a management company to deliver appraisal orders. This new law and the state of the lending industry and slow real estate sales has cause my business to slow and my income also. I took a look at where the real estate industry was heading and I thought to myself it would not be bad to have a Plan B. I started to study a varity of different online opportunities to generate additional income. The last two years has been a great learning experience developing online marketing skills, traffic generation skills and local marketing knowledge that I have been using to help several friends who run local small businesses. I have also ventured into the waters on network marketing or better know as mlm.  My first venture into network marketing was with Light Year Wireless a cell phone company which sells phones and plans. This started out great I brought on a good core of people had a great leader as an upline was making some money. Then things change in the economy and business slowed the several upline leaders jumped ship when the company changed comp plans. My upline eventually left  the company I started loosing some down line so packed it in. Now Lightyear is a very good company and there are many people that do well with this company. My next venture was with a nutritional product in a powdered coffee mix which being a coffee lover I did not think this was such a great idea but it was a small investment and I gave it a try but my heart was not in it and I did not even promote the product. I then ran across a guy named David Wood who was spinning articles promoting a lead system My Lead System Pro and a company called I Learning Global. The company promoted self development materials and training which was web based. I started to following  Dave’s training and many a the trainings in My Lead System Pro and  my business slowly started to grow. I was learning a lot about developing a blog, article marketing, video marketing and how to tie all this together to generate leads and grow a business. I head down to Dallas, Texas to the More Heart That Talent Conference. This is where I had the pleasure of Meeting David Wood, Cedrick Harris, Todd Falcone, Norbert Orlewitz, and Brian Finale along with Jeffery Combs and my life began to change. I started to really studying the network marketing profession and my business was beginning to blossom when I Learning Global closed down its Network Marketing Business Model.  Many people followed David Wood over to Numis to sell Silver and Gold Coins, I was thinking a joining but my wife who has had some health issues need my attention so I took a break from network marketing. I then was approached by a close friend who I played baseball with in High School about a company called Viridian Energy. I signed up as an associate and started to build a down line I though this was great we could save people 20 percent on the Electric bill who would not want to save 20 percent on their Electric bill. The biggest problem that  I found with promoting Viridian Electric which is a very good company is I did not like the comp plan. There was no up front money for any one you recruited into the company you would only be compensated $300 if the brought in 15 customers the first 3 months and the fact that it is only in 4 states. There was also some issues with budget billing and  if people were late paying their bills or got behind this affected your commission checks. Again Viridian is a good company with a good  leadership but I found my heart was not with this program. As I stated earlier I have been on a journey with person growth an have been assisted by my friend Jeffery Combs with a big break through which has lead to many more the past two years. Well the other day I was looking through my Email and I received and email from Kenny Gregg about a Nutritional Company named Visalus The is promoting good Health, Fitness, Weight Loss and Nutrition through a 90 day Challenge call Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge. Well a light bulb went off in my head, I just had another Break Through while I have been working on person growth changing my mental out look on life I have been negelecting my body the past 15 years I was a good 40 pounds over weight and I needed make a change. I joined up as a Visalus representative and I started my challenge 3 days ago but I have also Drawn a Line in the Sand. I have been reading about the company and compensation plans, the leadership team, my personal sponsors the fact that if you recruit 3 people your product is free each month and in this economy this is hugh. I also like the fact the we are not really selling a nutritional products we a selling a life style and a 90 Day Challenge to transform your life physically, mentally and financially.

I writing this post on breaking through your past barriers. Most people live in the past reliving past failures, fears or traumas and allowing them to hold them back.  The fears of past failures holding back creating the future you deserves. When your living in the past your living in your head and most past experiences relate to you are not good enough or I am not lovable.  We need to be living in the present getting out of  your head ,your ego and get into your heart or your feelings. When your working from the heart you believe in what you are doing  and what you doing is out of your head and you are now in the present, you are now in the game. When you start breaking through your past and over coming fears and past failures you start having quantum leaps. You start letting go and you practice forgiving .  My big break through was forgiving my father. I had big issues with my father he was a marine and I had to always tow the line. He had anger issues which transferred to me and I had anger issues. I was never good enough and this carried over in my life. He wanted me to get a degree from college, I rebelled and went two year to community college and then went out and got a job. This lead to losing several jobs because I had anger issues with authority figures or Bose’s. I figured my only way forward was to be my own Bose and to become self employed. The reason I am writing this blog post today is because today is my Dad’s Birthday. Now my Dad has past away several years ago from ALS and towards the end we had a very good  relationship. The problem was all these feelings and beliefs I had held onto were having a profound effect on my life.  I was holding on to these feeling and I had no idea how to overcome or let go. I was living in the past, the past was drowning me. My mind was full of  kaos and cluter. I need to make a change and that The day I sarted on my break through was a Saturday in Dallas, Texas a Network Marketing Event. I had the opportunity to meet a gentlemen named Jeffery Combs. I was listening to Jeffery  on stage and Jeffery mentioned he had issues with his Father. This started a set of events that has changed my life. I walked up to Jeffery thinking I could purchase a set of CD’s that would resolve these issues. Jeffrey stated, I can help you but you need to come out to Stockton,  California to a Breakthrough Event. I look at Jeffery and I said what do I have to do, I sign up for the Event and within a month I was on a plane heading to Stockton, California  for a weekend Break Through Event. At this event I had a very powerful Break Through which has lead me on a journey for the past year and half. I have let go of many past issues, I no longer have anger issues. I have forgiven my Dad which was a very emotional process but this has freed me from the past and I am now living in the Present.
